ANNA GORBACHYOVA – OGILVIE   soprano

Siberian born soprano Anna Gorbachyova-Ogilvie graduated with distinction from the the Royal Academy Opera of the Royal Academy of Music in London in 2012. Anna also studied at the Royal College of Music in London between 2007 and 2010 and prior to that from 2002 to 2006 she gained her BA  in International Relations from the Faculty of International Relations of the Ural State University in Yekaterinburg.

       Anna’s most recent engagements (September, October 2018) include Alcina in Handel’s “Alcina” in Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and Cleopatra in Handel’s “Giulio Cesare in Egypt” in Teatr Wielki Stanisława Moniuszki Opera Poznań. Earlier this year Anna sang the title role in Tchaikovsky’s “Iolanta” with the Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn in Switzerland and in Opéra de Tours in France and Pamina in Mozart’s “Die Zauberflöte” in the Yekaterinburg State Opera House.

        From 2010 until 2017 Anna sang the role of Musetta in Puccini’s “La Bohème” at the Hungarian State Opera, the title role in “La Calisto” by Cavalli at the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, the Nymph in L. Auerbach’s “Gogol” in the Theatre an der Wien, the title role in “Le Rossignol” by Stravinsky in Lyon National Opera, Musetta in “La Bohème” at Theater an der Wien, Zhou in “Kommilitonen! (Young Blood!)” by P. Maxwell Davies with the Royal Academy Opera, Madeline in “La chute de la Maison Usher” at the Welsh National Opera, the First Nymph in Dvořák’s “Rusalka” at Teatro dell’ Opera di Roma, Katya in “The Passenger” at the Michigan Opera Theater and the Florida Grand Opera.

        Anna performed as a soloist with wide-ranging repertoire at such international venues and festivals as Palau de la Musica Catalana in Barcelona, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall in Moscow, Varaždin International Baroque Evenings Festival, Herne International Festival of Early . Music,Yekaterinburg State Philharmonics, Kremlin in Moscow.

Mikhail Shilyaev – pianist

He was born in Izhevsk, Russia. He started learning piano at the age of six and won several regional piano competitions at a young age. He studied in Russia, Germany and in the UK.

As a soloist with orchestra, he has recently performed with Musikkollegium Winterthur, the London Soloists Chamber Orchestra, RNCM Concert Orchestra, the Georgian Philharmonic Orchestra and with the Gulbenkian Symphony Orchestra.  He has worked with leading conductors including Christopher Warren-Green, Pascal Rophé and Nikoloz Rachveli.

In July 2010 Mikhail won the Bronze Medal at the prestigious Vianna da Motta International Piano Competition in Lisbon.

Mikhail lives in London and plays mostly in the UK and Europe. He has been taking part in numerous festivals across Europe including Zaubersee festival in Lucerne.  Among his chamber music partners are Boris Brovtsyn, Anastasia Kobekina and Natalie Clein. He is interested in historical performance practice and often gives recitals on fortepianos.

Mikhail is also known for his collaboration with singers including the rising stars Anna Gobachyova, Nardus Williams and Tuuli Takkala. Mikhail’s repertoire stretches from early Baroque to contemporary music with its focus on J. S. Bach, Viennese classics, German romantics and Chopin.  He has recently released two critically acclaimed CDs on Toccata Classics and Stone Records.
